The Christmas Holidays are almost upon us - it is a busy time of year.  I hope that you are not stressed by your "christmas knitting"  and are finding time to enjoy the calmness of knitting and the beauty of the season.

I want to express my thanks and gratitude to you all for all of your support and for the friendships that have grown this year.

Back to Work :) AND We're getting a visitor

Hello everyone, hope you have had a great summer.   Thank you for all of your support this summer.  I had a great holiday with my family and am excited to get back to the store.
Our regular store hours resume this week:
Tuesday 10:00am - 5:00pm
Wednesday & Thursday 10:00am - 9:00pm
Friday & Saturday 10:00am - 5:00pm
Sunday & Monday Closed
Our afternoon "Sit & Knits" have started back up.  Everyone is welcome.  They usually run from 1-3pm daily.
If you are already signed up for either of our Wednesday or Thursday night groups/classes - they will not be officially starting until October.  HOWEVER, you are welcome to come and bring your project that you are working on and reconnect with the other knitters.

We have a guest knitting author and designer coming for a visit to the store.  We will be hosting Sheryl Thies at Sweet Yarns on Saturday, September 17th from 11:00am - 2:00pm.  Here is some information.

Notch up your creativity, spark you imagination and discover Tunisian crochet, but beware, you just may get hooked!
Author and designer, Sheryl Thies will be at Sweet Yarns, Saturday September 17 from 11 am to 2 pm. Stop by and have a close up look at the complex woven like fabric of Tunisian crochet and then participate in a demonstration to see how easy Tunisian crochet is to work.
Sheryl is the author of several knitting books including Ocean Breezes, Nature’s Wrapture and most recently, Get Hooked on Tunisian Crochet. A limited number of books will be available for sale and Sheryl would love to sign a copy for you.

We have some new and exciting yarns in the store.

Check out the Liberty Wool by Classic Elite Yarns - I love this yarn - it's knitting up great.  So far have made a hat nad am working on wrist warms....it's awesome for socks to.  It's 100% washable wool.



 Sensation by Naturally Yarns (70% Merino 30% Angora) - is a beautiful yarn - we have limitted quantities and are offering it to you at 25% off.  This is a 10 ply yarn and I am planning on making myself a warm cozy sweater for the fall :)

Knitting in the Park - rained out

Hello, well it's raining outside - so we have cancelled the knit in the park for this afternoon for the knit in public day.  No worries we will try again in the future. 
You can check ravelry - under the Sudbury Knitters group - there may be an alternative location being set up.  As well if you would like you can come knit at the store.

New Goodies to Explore

It looks like spring may finally be here - although it was cold this morning - the sun is shining and the weather man has promissed us 18 degrees - yahoo.

The "Sit and Knits" are becoming quite popular - friendships are being built and it's wonderful to see all that come having a great time.  Our "Sit and Knits" are normally between 1-3pm.

We have some new goodies at the store:

Now here is a picture of our friend Sherry - there are some that had "doubts" that she would ever finish a project - TADA - her first project completed and in just ONE day, to boot it's a beautiful mobius done in Malabrigo Rasta.  WAY TO GO Sherry - we knew you could do it.  It looks gorgeous :)

And The Winner Is...............

As you know we collected for the Infant Food Bank last month - Thank you so much for all of your donations and support.  Here are some photos of what was collected in addition to $1088.31 in cash donations.  The Infant Food bank was very excited to receive all of the donations and will be able to help many families because of your generousity.

With every donation, participants received a ballot for a chance to win a beautiful basket full of yarn from Diamond Yarns (the basket feature yarns provided by Diamond yarns to the store)  What a treat.  The happy winner was Erin -  CONGRATULATIONS

As a new knitter - what a way to start a "yarn stash"  - Erin I hope you enjoy all of the beautiful yarn.

The April Thursday Night Group has wrapped up class this week with Top Down Knitting techniques under their belts.  We have seen many wonderful projects and many more on the verge of being completed.  Thank you to all who have taken part.

Results for the collections for the Infant Food Bank and the winner of the draw - will be announced next week.  Thank you to all who have donated to this worthy cause.

May Group is now full - For those who have already registered for the May Beginners Lace Group - we will begin on Thursday May 5th @ 7:00pm.  Here is a suggestion for a May Project - available via http://www.ravelry.com/ by the name of Schal/Scarf Wabenschal.

From our Wednesday Night "Beginners" Group here are some great pictures of projects that have been completed - They have done a wonderful job and should be very proud of their accomplishments.

WOW it's looking more like Christmas than Easter.  Although I have to say that it does look beautiful

April is "Baby" month at Sweet Yarns

Hello :)  Beautiful Sunny Day here in Sudbury today.

It's Baby month here at the store.  Our charity for this month is going to be The Infant Food Bank of Sudbury.  We are collenting such items as Diapers, Baby Wipes, Formula, Baby Food, Baby Bottles and Baby Layette Sets.

For every donation you bring in you will receive a ballot towards this months Draw - the winner will receive a "Basket full of Yarn" thank you to our kind sponsors Diamond Yarns.

All donations will be brought to the Infant Food Bank at the end of April on behalf of all everyone who has donated.
